How to re-enable your Wireless
If you have no WIFI coming from your Technicolor router you will need to hold down the wireless button on the top of the router for 5 seconds and this should re-activate the wireless, as illustrated by the lit icon below.
If this does not work, please follow the below steps.
Note: Please make sure you are hardwired into the back of the router (i.e. a cable you’re your computer into one of the four LAN ports in the back of the router) when changing any of the configuration on your router.
- First, open your internet browser e.g. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox etc and type in 192.168.1.1. into the address bar at the top and press enter. Please see image below:
2. This will then take you to a sign in screen, you will need to enter the username and password for the router. Please see these details below:
Username – admin
Password – Serial Number of your router (This is located on the back of your router)
3. Once logged in, this will take you to the router interface. On this screen you will see an option called ‘Wireless’. Hover the cursor over this and click the cogs in the top right-hand corner.
4. Once this has loaded, you will see a section called interface. Here you will see a slider labelled ‘Enabled’. If your wireless is disabled, you will see the below slider is greyed out.
5. Click on the slider and it will go green as shown below, select save at the bottom of the page and the wireless should be re-activated.
Important Note: The wireless can be disabled for several reasons with the most popular cause being the WPS button located on the top of the router being held down for an excessive amount of time.
